After a night of electrifying performances of some of the best soca offerings for Crop Over 2019 by some of Barbados’ best soca artistes, last year’s Party Monarch, Mikey, emerged the winner of the first MQI/98.1 The One Soca Monarch.

Winning with a total of ninety-eight points and his song “Action Time Again”- one of only two Power Soca songs of the night – Mikey walked away with a cash prize of $20,000 BBD and a new, customised Mazda BT 50 pick-up truck and insurance.

Last year’s Sweet Soca King and six-time Party Monarch, Lil Rick, came in second place with seventy-five points. His song “Jam Down”, which he performed with The Mighty Grynner, was the second Power Soca entry of the night. Lil Rick went home with $30,000 BBD.
